Memories

I always feel younger on the bike. Maybe its because of memories deep down from that first bike I got. It didn't take long to go from the comfort of our driveaway to exploring the streets, neighborhood and world beyond. My journeys would get longer and longer each day. In the age before cell phones, my parents would worry about me. I lost track of time on the bike. Always excited about what the next street had in store for me. Or how far I could go and still be back in time for dinner. While now I lust after Treks, and Specialized, and Cervelo, back then, it was huffies, schwinns, and mongooses. If you had a mongoose, you were the coolest kid on the block. I'm alot older than that kid now, but not much has changed with that bike ride - I still try to make it back before my family at home worries, and I can't wait to tell my friends about what I saw.
